Rhapsody of Realities for 27 May 2026 — Affirm God’s Word Over The Nations

TODAY'S RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.

TOPIC: Affirm God’s Word Over The Nations

SCRIPTURE: "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4).

Today, there’re systems and voices in the world that present themselves as guides to the nations, yet their ideas have brought confusion, hardship and economic destruction to many countries. These are organizations that claimed to offer solutions but instead misled leaders, crippled economies, and plunged nations into unnecessary debts.

Many governments, in times of global crisis, followed these voices without discernment, and the results were devastating. The Scripture already warned us about such influences: “They are of the world, therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them" (1 John 4:5).

But thanks be unto God! We’re not helpless spectators in the earth. As the Church of Jesus Christ, we have authority; we rule and we change things. Through prayer and the exercise of our faith, we’re able to dismantle the agenda of darkness. No organisation, ideology, or structure can control the nations as long as we take our place and stand against them in faith.

Our responsibility is to stand in the Spirit and affirm God’s Word over the nations and their leaders. Declare His peace and prosperity over the nations. He told us to do it: Luke 10:5-6, “And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.”

We have amazing authority in His name to bless the nations: “By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted…” (Proverbs 11:11). Through our words of blessing, the cities and nations of the world are exalted. They’re lifted from the thraldom of deception, economic woes and debt into the destinies that God ordained for them. Through our faith and intercession, the will of God prevails in the earth.

Therefore, keep praying for the nations and their leaders. As you do, the forces of darkness and their agendas will be subdued, and righteousness will be established in the nations. Declare that the leaders are not deceived and that divine wisdom guides them to lead their nations out of illegal and oppressive debts, and ungodly control. Hallelujah.

Today’s devotional reminds us that believers are not powerless observers of world events, but carriers of divine authority with the responsibility to influence nations through prayer and the declaration of God’s Word. In a world filled with misleading systems and voices that promote fear, confusion, and oppression, the Church is called to stand as a voice of truth, wisdom, and righteousness. God has given His people authority to speak peace, prosperity, and direction over cities and nations, knowing that our words, when aligned with His Word, carry spiritual power.

Through consistent intercession and faith-filled declarations, we can frustrate the works of darkness and create opportunities for God’s purpose to prevail among leaders and governments. This is why believers must remain spiritually alert, praying for discernment, wisdom, and righteous leadership so that nations can walk in the peace, progress, and freedom that God desires for them.

PRAYER/CONFESSION

The nations are delivered from deception, and their leaders receive divine wisdom to promote and establish the righteousness of God in their lands. The agenda of the enemy for the nations of the world is frustrated and by the authority of the Name of the Lord Jesus, the triumph of Christ is enforced in every nation. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

James 5:16: Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

1 John 4:4-5: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. [5] They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

1 Timothy 2:1-4: I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
