Rhapsody of Realities for 12 May 2026 — The Complete Revelation Of God’s Love | Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TODAY'S RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DEVOTIONAL BY PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME.

TOPIC: The Complete Revelation Of God’s Love

SCRIPTURE: "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love (1 John 4:8)."

Many people have their own definition of love because the word love has been there even before Jesus came. People used it in their daily language. It was not created when Jesus arrived. Even in the Greek expression, love, which is translated “agape,” was a known word; they used it in their daily conversations, so they already had their idea of love.

But the Lord Jesus Christ is the true definition of God’s love. He was the visible manifestation and expression of the love of God when He walked the earth. The Bible says God is love; that love was tabernacled in human flesh and manifested to us in the person of Jesus. When He walked the earth, it was love walking, talking, touching and changing lives.

When He entered the temple and preached, He was God’s love preaching. When He healed the sick, He was God’s love healing them. Even when He made whips and overturned the tables of the money changers in the temple, that was God’s love in manifestation.

Make no mistakes about it, your human definition of love will never decide for God what love is. Jesus Christ was God’s love come to us in the flesh. John 1:14 says, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

Fully God and fully man, He embodied everything love is. Therefore, to know love, you must know the Lord Jesus. To understand love, you must see it through Him. He is the perfect and complete revelation of God’s love to humanity.

Today’s devotional reminds us that true love can only be fully understood through Jesus Christ. Human opinions and emotions cannot define God’s love because Jesus Himself is the complete revelation and expression of that love. Everything He did on earth, preaching, healing, showing compassion, correcting wrongs, and ultimately giving His life for humanity, revealed the heart of the Father. To know real love is to know Christ, because God’s love is not merely a feeling or concept but a living reality demonstrated through Jesus. As believers, we are called to reflect this same love in our words, actions, and daily lives.

PRAYER/CONFESSION

Dear Father, I thank you for revealing your love to me in Christ Jesus. I walk in the consciousness of your love, expressing it with wisdom, truth and power. My life reflects the love of Christ in action, bringing healing, righteousness and transformation to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY

John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:9–11: "In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.
